Yahoo!’s new homepage design coming soon
Michael Arrington from TechCrunch announced that Yahoo has began bucket testing a new version of its homepage on 17th Sept evening with small percentage of user from US ,Uk ,India and France.
According to TechCrunch, the changes on the new homepage bring even more customization options and third party content onto the site.Yahoo has introduce of third party services to the Yahoo home page, such as user can log into their Gmail or AOL Mail accounts and view email right from Yahoo.com,but one of the interesting fact is Mircosoft(Hotmail/MSN) is out of the party.


The new Yahoo design allow user to personalize their Yahoo’s page by add apps to the left sidebar. The mockup included widgets for Hulu, MySpace, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook - all third party services. Screen shot:

It seems many of the internet giant has follow the web 2.0 redesigning trend now. Facebook, Yahoo and Hotmail(coming soon) is 3 of the good examples. But is’t the changes make sense for the user or just simply another tech war between their competitor? It’s yet to be know at this stage. From a user perspective, i hopefully those changes are made based on user convenience, do you agree?
